If you're going to celebrate Labor Day, which you shouldn't, at least do it like Chileans do.
Today is May Day, and Santiago has ground to a stop. Nothing is open. It's like Christmas.
I refuse to celebrate a holiday in which the State affirms my worth, but I've always been irritated that so many people in service end up working Labor Day in the States while all the white collar people go drink coffee and eat burgers and watch movies on their day off.
Of course, in Chile the police still work on Labor Day.
