If you live in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson area, allow me to cordially invite you to join the Upstate Pipe Society at our next meeting. Heck, if you live in Asheville, Columbia, or Charlotte, you are most welcome to join us. Some guys come down from Tennessee or up from Georgia. And it's well worth the trip.
The Upstate Pipe Society meets first Sundays at 1:30pm at Boda Pipes in Greenville.
Our very official and very formal club usually focuses on one very important activity: hanging out and shooting the breeze, and possibly showing off any new purchases.
We do occasionally have a plan that goes beyond hanging out with like-minded pipe enthusiasts. At our last meeting we hosted Eric Gainey, an independent pipe maker from south Georgia. We might have shows or tobacco exchanges, or off-site events. You never know. We don't either, we're only a few months old.
If you want to keep up with our shenanigans, request to join us on Facebook. We sort of promise we won't pester you. Or you can follow me and David (our prez) on Twitter.
We broadcast our last meeting live on YouTube for the benefit of some friends who got stuck in the snow. Play the video for a bit, if you'd like to get a taste of who we are.
As of the writing of this post, our next meeting is February 2nd. Come visit.
