How sweet is this? The other day I was walking through a state park and a butterfly landed on my head and wouldn't leave. After having family take pictures I shooed it off my head and walked on, but the insect followed me and landed on me again. Even when I walked briskly it hung on, and I could feel that it was doing something up there in my hair.
Observers noted that it seemed to be chewing.
I had to wait to get home to find out that butterflies love salt. My sweat is the only thing I can think was attracting the little thing to me. And man, was it attracted. I was a little afraid it was doing something nasty to me up there, but I could kind of feel that it was eating, so I let it be.
