I'm not going to talk about Michael Moore's film, except to say that "Fahrenheit 911" is a really heavy-handed (fatty, maybe?) title, completely lacking in barb. A few weeks ago I turned NPR on in the middle of an interview with Moore, in which they were speaking of this movie. It was the first I'd heard of it, and when I heard the locutor mentioning that the title "alluded" to Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 I sat there for a while trying to think of any clever titles the content of the book had suggested, and I was a little embarassed to come up empty. But there was no cleverness, just a meatcleaver. Sanctimonious folk have difficulty being funny, and so are hard to take seriously. Relax, blowhard. Don't you have confidence that right will win out?
