Malum Malum
How do we know it was an apple?
What if it were malum persicum,
Which fruit knows that man has a weakness
For cleft curves and soft downy hair.
Knows that man lacks the tough stones
She has. Did you know you can extract
Cyanide from them if you have a lot?
If you want a fruit as temptress
I would say it had to be a peach,
Which is soft and pastel and sweet and forgiving:
Just right on the fuzziness with a poison center.
Than again, you'd never swallow
The stone of a peach
And you would of an apple
But those have arsenic.
