There is no majesty. Shouldn't the effect have been the opposite: all are majestic?Joffre The Gianthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01768180753189024057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7951550829861093919.post-89243516407545042412017-02-17T14:36:51.423-05:002017-02-17T14:36:51.423-05:00I wonder what honoring a person I actually know......I wonder what honoring a person I actually know...someone I physically interact in living space with (my "neighbor"?) looks differently that someone I interact with in the abstract. i.e. The President. For years we have been regaled with stories of Bill Clinton's disarming personal, in the room, charisma. (Similar stories are floated about the unforgivingly boorish Trump.) There was the promise...that eye-to-eye, breathing the same air, Clinton's charm was intoxicating. I would imagine that honoring a guy like that would be easy (perhaps it is for the gilded Trump). Though in the abstract, it seems more difficult if not impossible. 1 Peter is written to people who will mostly likely never physically, personally interact with their king...while daily interacting with the fishmonger. could it be that the mere mention of the king is to elevate the value and importance...the urgency to honor even the lowly fishmonger?CWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06808741883242028832noreply@blogger.com
