When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3. Have you read the full series? Yes, there's some silliness and some high school drama, but part of that is due to the intended audience (the books start as middle-grade fiction and gradually move to YA in sync with the characters and, by extension, the reader).

Unrelated: You mention Rowling, Tolkien, and Lewis -- what other fantasy books/authors would you recommend? I have always favored scifi and could use some more Wonderment in my life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7951550829861093919.post-53594101852295047552014-08-27T17:40:56.239-04:002014-08-27T17:40:56.239-04:00Do you have the power to cast Wonderment?Do you have the power to cast Wonderment?Joffre The Gianthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01768180753189024057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7951550829861093919.post-79171416529844618192014-08-27T17:40:07.828-04:002014-08-27T17:40:07.828-04:00Cheers!Cheers!Joffre The Gianthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01768180753189024057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7951550829861093919.post-61491119245978246612014-08-26T20:35:06.146-04:002014-08-26T20:35:06.146-04:00Joffre, thanks for broaching the topic. Incidentally, it's about Tolkien.

http://www.patrickcurry.co.uk/papers/Iron-Cage-Iron-Crown.pdfMy Place in the Woodshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810250890020919347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7951550829861093919.post-27936832388785189882014-08-26T13:15:50.732-04:002014-08-26T13:15:50.732-04:00As someone who found a path to my faith through Du...As someone who found a path to my faith through Dungeons and Dragons, I can happily agree with the points you've raised.
