Pat Robertson Suddenly Advocates Abortion

1. The seat of human life is in the mind. If there is no mind, there is no human. The body is merely a meat chair.

2. My wife has alzheimers. Her mind is broken. She is, therefore, dead, regardless of the testimony of her body.

3. Because my wife is dead, at best a zombie, I may lawfully divorce her. I am, effectively, a widow. I owe her no obligation, except to make her disposition humane.

1. The seat of human life is in the mind. If there is no mind, there is no human. The body is merely a meat chair.

2. This child in my womb has no real consciousness yet. Her mind is unformed. She is, therefore, not alive, regardless of the testimony of her body.

3. Because this child is not alive, is at best a seed, I may lawfully dispose of her. I am not yet a father. I owe her no obligation, except to make her disposition humane.

Protestants have been judging the value of human beings by their fitness for a long time. This is the inevitable result.

  2. Speaking as a Protestant who's been taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's for over a decade now, I find your comment to be both strange and insulting.

  3. I'm a Protestant as well. I'm not saying that Protestants are all like this. What I am saying is that our constant emphasis on intellectual assent and the ability to express it as the mark of a Christian pushes us to this pseudo-gnostic theology of the mind. The imago dei is not simply a description of our mind.
